中国和越南数以千记的亚洲黑熊（月熊）被囚禁在只与他们身体大小一样的笼子里，忍
受着不同的抽胆汁方法所带来的痛苦。他们这样的忍受可能会长达二十年之久。被用于
传统中药的熊胆现在已能完全很容易地被草药替代或人工合成。这些从草药中提取的或
人工合成的物质不但便宜而且一样有效。
但养熊场老板不停努力地开发新的熊胆产品，诸如香波、啤酒和各式各样的滋补品。
在韩国， 1992年活熊取胆就已经是非法的了。然而，仍有一些养熊场存在。并且年龄超
过十岁的熊可以合法地被（常常是当着消费者的面）屠宰以取胆。

Thousands of Moon Bears across China and Vietnam are imprisoned in cages no bigger than their own bodies enduring the agony of different bile extraction methods. Their suffering may continue for 20 years. Bear bile used in traditional Chinese medicine can easily be replaced by herbal or synthetic alternatives, which are cheaper and equally effective.
Due to excessive bear bile production bear farmers are constantly trying to find new products to add bear bile to, such as shampoos, beers and various tonics.
In South Korea it has been illegal to extract bile from living bears
since 1992. However, there are still bear farms. Bears over the age of 10 can be legally slaughtered (usually in front of the customers) for their bile.

This petition is submitted by the Finnish Support Group for Bear Rescue in Asia. The group supports Animals Asia Foundation that rescues bears from bear bile farms.
