Position title: PR & Education Assistant ManagerThis position is now available in the Education and PR Department of our Moon Bear Rescue Centre, in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
Qualifications and qualities:
* Three years (minimum) working experience, preferably in the media, PR firms, teaching, etc;
* Bachelor or above degree preferably in PR, mass communication, journalism, English, etc;
* Strong written and verbal communication skills;
* Fluent English-speaking and writing;
* Excellent in Chinese writing;
* Strategic thinker;
* Strong problem-solving skills;
* Good team spirit;
* Fast learner.
Primary objective of the position:
To promote and increase public awareness of Animals Asia’s animal-welfare work in China, with special focus on bear-bile farming and dog-and-cat consumption.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop sound relationships with Chinese media to ensure maximum sympathetic coverage of Animals Asia’s various programmes;
* Organise onsite media events;
* Represent Animals Asia by participating in interviews, press conferences and other media-related engagements;
* Co-ordinate onsite international media interviews;
* Develop media materials;
* Update and manage Animals Asia’s Chinese website;
* Support and supervise the implementation of PR and other programmes/activities;
* Available for investigation and travel in China.
