here is one of the outcome from 3rd neayen conference in tokyo, japan:

TOKYO Initiative

21[sup]st[/sup] Sep. 2007

We, 50 youth from China, Japan, Korea and Mongolia in 3[sup]rd[/sup] TUNZA North East Asia Youth Environment Network Conference, Tokyo Japan discussed Climate Change and Sustainable Development and released action plans. We declare that every sector has to prevent from Climate change, and achieve sustainable consumption. In this regard, we will impose on every sector to follow this statement we made.

To individuals,

We urge to use organic products, buy local, slow food ( no fast or instant food), bring own toothbrush and cups and water bottles, use recycled paper. To use white light instead of using ordinary yellow light bulb, ride a bike and public transportation instead of individual cars, quality more than price, reuse is more than recycling.

To governments,

We urge to develop educational reform in the schools (having environmental lessons in the curriculum), green tax, review governmental policy, regulation to business firms, get supports from academic authority, consistent lobby.

To private sectors,

We prefer to have human and nature connection, same day events, slow fashion trends, and to get people educated in environmental knowledge. We have to have information sharing, making database (internet based networking). Also NGOs and business firms have to invest in it as much as they can to achieve sustainable development.

To prevent from Climate change, we need every person`s responsibility and participation.

We can start from now on what we can do at EACH LEVEL.

<Action Plan>

Group1: sustainable networking

This plan aims to connect NEAYEN conference members each other for a long time and to make sustainable networking among 4 countries in the future. First we built the mailing list (by Oct 1st) as a means to communicate with and share the information each other. Then we release regular e newsletters once in two months. The edition members for E-newsletters is organized (by Nov 1st) including the volunteer members. The first E-article is published and we get feed back by Jan
2008.

Group 2: Beyond the North East Asia

To communicate with youth in Asia and other world regions the concept of sustainable consumption as the means of combating against climate change and the activities the Northeast Asian youth initiates to achieve the goal of stopping global warming. We will develop the concept of the educational booklet, organize national and regional editorial boards with participation from regional youth, NGOs and experts, under the guidance by UN and other science authorities encourage wide youth participation for content development, use only environmentally-friendly materials, and carry out broad-based promotion and dissemination through cooperation with national youth organizati
on.

Group 3: Lobbying

We try to spread our opinion all over the each country . Our plan is….1.having a big event to make our voice bigger .2.petition to deliver massages to government. 3.appeal to politicians and politician appeal to public.

The content of our plan include carrying out projects combining climate change and CDM which focus on investigation of using status of electricity, water, solid rubbish and traffic.

There are three methods to get it. 1. We plan to give out brochures on climate change. 2 investigation on use of traditional power and the exclusion of CO2. 3. Calculate personal carbon is expected to wake up people.

Group 4: Volume up your voice

We, youth at the 3[sup]rd[/sup] TUNZA NEAYEN conference in Tokyo, Japan will launch World Environment Day Campaign 2008. Our voice is WE(World Environment), our Day. It includes three targets group campaigns, for children, youth and residents. We will get supports from media and governments for the same theme campaign in our four countries during three days. All in all, it’s just the very beginning for our TUNZA NEAYEN long term future advocacy activity
.

Group 5: Planning for the Future

Planning for the future had diverse goals of different purposes including extension of membership and cooperation with other NGOs. Research work for educational reform was chosen because peer-to-peer education can be followed naturally. Group 5, based on the agenda we created, will publish the booklet with four languages of four nations, then educate the young.
