WWF, the global conservation organization that has been working in China for 27 years, is looking for a highly skilled professional to be a Programme Associate in Liangshan-Xiangling for the Conservation Operations in WWF China Programme Office to be based in Chengdu.
This position will report to the Head of Chengdu Office.


Programme Associate in Liangshan-Xiangling - Chengdu Office
Major Function:

Take the responsibility to manage conservation projects in the field in Liangshan-Xiangling.
Facilitate the contractees/stakeholders to develop the plans of project implementation and therefore implement the plans.
Work together with other members in WWF China to contribute Yangtze conservation. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Be familiar with the overall situation of socio-economy, environment and resources, and policy in programme areas.
Work closely with the whole team of Chengdu Office.
Coordinate with the key stakeholders in programme areas, to identify the needs of the targeted key stakeholders, including real needs of targeted communities in alternative livelihood.
Design, develop, support and manage grant programs in programme area.
Facilitate the stakeholders to develop the plan of project implementation.
Monitor the progress of approved projects being implemented by stakeholders through frequent field visits in accordance with the project implementation plan.
Evaluate the impacts of approved projects being implemented by stakeholders through frequent field visits.
Provide materials and documents for technical reports, newsletters and so on.
Perform other tasks assigned by Head of Chengdu Office
Qualifications Required
At least 3 years working experience in project management and natural resources management on biodiversity conservation and rural development with bachelor degree or above;
Working Experience in Yi minority culture in Liangshan rural area is preferable.
Commitment to conservation, high degree of good interpersonal and coordinating ability and team spirit;
Good written and spoken English and Chinese Languages;
Spoken Yi is highly preferable;
Ability and willingness to travel to field (50% of working time).
Respect to local tradition and culture.
Good computer skills (especially Microsoft Word, Excel, and PPT).
