II. Organizational Context
Under the overall guidance of the UNRCand direct supervision of the UN Coordination Specialist,the UN Coordination Assistant provides supportto the execution of services in the UNRCoffice ensuring high quality, accuracy and consistency of work.
The UN Coordination Assistant works in close collaboration with the operations,program and project teams of the UN Agencies and UNDGO staff as required to exchange information and support programme delivery.
III. Functions / Key Results Expected
Summary of Key Functions:
- Support to preparation and implementation of CCA and UNDAF
- Support to preparation and implementation of the RC Work Plan
- Support to coordination of the UNCT and UNTG activities
- Support to effective advocacy of UN activities
- Support to knowledge building and knowledge sharing
1. Supports preparation and implementation of CCA and UNDAFfocusing on achievement of the following results:
- Collection, analysis and presentation of information for identification of areas for support and CCA and UNDAFformulation/ implementation.
2. Provides effective support to preparation and implementation of the RC Work Plan focusing on the achievement of the following results:
- Preparation of inputs to the RC Work Plan/ reports.
- Proper control of the supporting documents for payment from the SRC fund and other funds for UNCT activities.
- Preparation of required budget revision drafts.
- Preparation of requisitions in Atlas.
3. Supports coordination of the UNCT and UNTG activitiesfocusing on achievement of the following results:
- Assist with preparation for the UNCT meetings and events, including some drafting of papers.
- Provide advice to the UNTGs on coordination best practices and procedures.
- Represent the UNRC office at some UNTG meetings.
4. Provides support to effective advocacy of UN activities focusing on achievement of the following results:
- Maintenance of information on RC system activities.
- Preparation of public information materials as requested.
5. Supports knowledge building and knowledge sharing focusing on achievement of the following results:
- Organization of trainings to UN staff on UN coordination issues.
- Contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
IV. Impact of Results
The key results have an impact on the overall UN program efficiency. Accurate data entry and presentation of information ensures proper UN program implementation. The information provided facilitates decision making of the management.

VI. Recruitment Qualifications
Education:
Secondary Education. University Degree in International Relations, Political Sciences and Social Sciences would be desirable, but it is not a requirement.
Experience:
3 to 5 years of relevant administrative or programme experience is required at the national or international level. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web based management systems.
Language Requirements:
Fluency inEnglish and Chinese.
