WWF, the global conservation organization that has been working in China for 27 years, is looking for a highly skilled professional to be a Programme Coordinator-Community & Ecortourism of Xi’an Programme Office for the Conservation Operations in WWF China to be based in Xi’an,Shaanxi province.
This position will report to the Head of Xi’an Programme Office
Programme Coordinator---Community & Ecortourism
Major Function:
Implement Qinling conservation based community and ecotourism development module
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
i. Work with WWF Qinling team to develop and implement the strategy plan for community and ecotourism development in Qinling mountains, including proposals for extension of the project, or replication of the project elsewhere.
ii. Assist to develop project annual work plans and budgets.
iii. Assist to manage contracted projects and implement consistently monitoring and evaluation.
iv. Provide technical assistance to partners.
v. Assist to establish necessary project documentation and database, serving as an information source for WWF family.
vi. Assist to provide timely financial and technical reports as required.
vii. Assist Qinling communication manager to ensure that a sound communications strategy is in place and participate in communications activities as needed.
viii. Fulfil other project related works required by supervisor.
Qualifications Required
A. At least university degree
B. At least 5-year work experience in biodiversity conservation or related work in China
C. Understanding conservation and economic development issues in Qinling
D. Familiar with adaptive management approach
E. Background on conservation and rural development
F. Good English writing and speaking
G. Excellent Chinese writing skills
H. Familiar with participatory facilitation skills
I. Adaptive to frequent field travel
J. Dynamic, creative and outgoing personality and commitment to nature conservation
