Project Background: Chongqing is a biodiversity-rich area of China, but is also an area of one of the most intensive conflicts between economic development and biodiversity conservation. Chongqing has committed itself to stem the loss of biodiversity and mainstream the biodiversity conservation. A consortium under the leadership of the Chongqing Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau (CQEPB, see http://www.cepb.gov.cn) is implementing a field project of EU-China Biodiversity Programme - Mainstreaming Biodiversity Conservation and Capacity Building in Chongqing Municipality (hereafter cited as CQECBP). Fauna and Flora International China Programme Office (see www.ffichina.org), an international conservation non-governmental organization is the international partner of this project.
Position : Project Administrative Manager (Located in Chongqing)
Being the administrative manager, Major duties and responsibilities include:
1.Day-to-day administrative management of project implementation office and coordinate with local project offices and project partners
2.Organize training and stakeholders workshops/meetings, study tours nd field visits
3.Arrange logistics of all international/national/local experts and visitors
4.Draft contracts and subcontracts for project implementation
5.Coordinate with relevant stakeholders for project implementation and monitoring
6.Make a sound communication strategy and participate in communication with media for publicity of project progress, outputs and achievements
7.Assist in developing the Project work plans, budgets and to ensure the integration with the matching funds
8.Assist in providing timely financial and technical reports as required
9.Assist in extension and dissemination of project experiences and lesson-learned
10.Other work designated by project director and outcome Coordinator
Requirements:
At least Bachelor or equivalent training in administrative or financial management or a related discipline.
At least three years working experience in relevant fields and biodiversity conservation.
A good approach to teamwork and an ability to work independently.
Familiar with adaptive management approach.
Fluency in oral and written English, excellent Chinese writing skill.
Creative, good interpersonal skills and commitment to biodiversity conservation.
Working experience with international cooperative project will be a plus.
Duration: 20 months (a few months will be extended when necessary)
Reporting: This position will directly report to the project output coordinator
