WWF, the conservation organization, has a global network active in 96 countries. Through its China Programme Office in Beijing, WWF manages a wide array of conservation projects in China. WWF is seeking to recruit a Finance Director to be based at the WWF China Office in Beijing.
Major Function:
Under the direction of the WWF China Representative, the Finance Director has overall responsibility for the Finance function of WWF China.
To supervise and support the management of the existing operations as well as plan for the program's growth and anticipated needs.
Provision of training for staff, as well as ensuring adequate skills and financial stewardship will be an important part of the responsibilities.
Lead the finance team in providing project management, finance, accounting, capacity building and organizational support to the WWF China operations.
Other responsibilities including:
Financial, statutory & management reporting, contract management, business planning, budgeting & forecasting, treasury, internal audit, process improvement, tax, legal administration, and liaisons with donors and external auditors. The Finance Director will also be an important member of the senior management team.
Preferred Qualifications and Background:
The candidate should be a qualified Accountant and possess a Degree in Accounting or ACCA, preferably with an MBA and at least 10 years of working experience, several of which would have been in a senior finance leadership role in a progressive foreign organization working in the region.
The candidate should have extensive experience on financial management and planning.
Prior experience in an NGO is desired but not essential, but knowledge of IAS, GAAP and familiarity with computerized accounting systems is a pre-requisite.
A tenacious, commercially astute and 'hands on' leader, the candidate should have excellent interpersonal and influencing skills and possess strong analytical as well as project management skills.
Be comfortable dealing with all levels of staff.
Effectively proficient in both verbal and written English and Mandarin.
