Position: Communication Coordinator of Climate Change and Energy Programme, WWF China
Location:WWF China Programme Office, Beijing
Report toirector of Climate Change and Energy Programme
Functions:
Manage the communications issues in Climate Change and Energy (CC&E) Programme, coordinate with WWF thematic, field and communication personnel, donors and partners, ascertain CC&E is well coordinated with WWF CPO communication work, and ensure quality and timely communication of Climate Change and Energy Programme and activities inside and outside of the WWF network.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the communication strategy and plan for Climate Change and Energy Programme aiming at magnifying the project results, engaging targeted audience and increasing the public awareness of climate change and energy issues.
Develop and implement the communication activities for Climate Change and Energy Programme together with thematic and fields personnel and in collaboration with Communication department.
Within the context of WWF CPO media network, build and maintain communication network, with media, public, governmental agencies, and other partners on the climate change and energy issues.
Assist the Communication Manager of WWF CPO with communication campaigns and activities relating to the priorities for the WWF Climate Change and Energy Programme.
Develop communication materials in English to provide regularly update of the programme progress and relevant policy issues in China to donors and WWF network.
Develop communication materials in Chinese to provide regularly update of the global climate change and energy dynamics to partners and governmental agencies.
Contribute information to WWF China website relating to Climate Change and Energy Programme, and work with Communications Department to ensure good structure of CC&E page and timely updates of related info.
Manage other information relating to Climate Change and Energy Programme, such as collection and filing of video, slides, photos and newspapers, in collaboration with CPO Communication Department
Perform other tasks as requested by the CC&E Director.
Supervises:Consultant, if applicable.
Working Relationships:
Internal: Daily contact with director and other staff in Climate Change and Energy Programme, frequent contact with the Head and other staff in Communication Department of WWF CPO, occasional contact with other staff in other programmes of WWF CPO.
External: Regular contact with donors, media, other NGOs, government agencies and main partners.
Qualifications:
An advanced university degree in a relevant subject;
At least three years work in communication field;
Experience on CC&E communication highly preferable;
Proactive, innovative and result-oriented personality with good communication skills;
Proficient English writing, speaking and reading skills;
Adequate interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team with other staff in achieving common goals and ability to work hard and meet deadlines;
Willingness to update professional knowledge and skills;
Would like to share WWF China’s value & culture.
