1. Position purpose/Summary statement
Support and assist ESC manager identifying and minimizing the risk in the area of supply chain working conditions. Collaborate with Deckers production and development staff and supplier management to integrate ESC guidelines into business practice. Ensure ethical sourcing and continuous improvement on ESC compliance.
2. Job Scope
Support ESC Manager to maintain and update ESC policy and other documentation ; schedule and conduct ESC audits and follow up on remediation in Deckers supply chain; assist on Health and Safety technical solutions, conduct internal/ external trainings and projects as required; manage ESC reports/ documentation.
3. Organization context of role – This role reports directly into ESC manager, and work closely with CR team of Deckers USA headquarter.
4. Essential duties and responsibilities
l Support ESC manager to develop, maintain and update the company supply chain ESC human rights policy/documentations.
l Audit and develop action plans for suppliers, to ensure compliance with the ESC Guidelines. Similarly, supervise the independent monitoring process in partner suppliers within designated country or countries.
l Assist and train business partners’ remediation by advising on options, negotiating timeframes, sharing experiences and best practices and helping management locate the necessary expertise, materials, etc.
l Support the ESC manager to ensure all relevant sourcing staff and department heads are fully briefed in the ESC guideline, Environmental Criteria principles and methods of implementation.
l Keep updated on all ESC legislation within the designated country or countries
l Technical Support on Health and Safety audits, guide the suppliers to proper remediation. Carry out special projects, as designated by ESC manager, which utilize areas of technical expertise.
l Support the ESC Manager to develop Deckers environmental goals and metrics and assist on successful implementation.
5. Minimum Qualifications
Education/Experience:
l University Degree in University Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Human Resource Management, Environmental Engineering, etc.
l At least 3 years of progressive experience in manufacturing industry with at least 2 years in the area of, social compliance audit.
l Experience in environmental, occupational health & safety is a bonus.
6. Minimum Competencies
Skills/Knowledge/Behaviour:
l Fluent written and spoken English
l Knowledge of local language and dialects in country of operation.
l Presentation Skills - Effectiveness in a variety of formal presentations, one-on-one,
small and large groups, with peers, direct reports and senior management;
l Good communication skills
l Good computer operation ( outlook, microsoft office etc.)
l Familiar with industry trends and standards in occupational health, safety and environment and employment.
l Organized, detail oriented, open-minded, team spririt
