Green Dream of HZAU is founded on April 11th, 2000 by the students of Resource Environment College of Huazhong Agricultural University. Under the jurisdiction of the General Party branch of Resource Environment College and College Youth League Committee, the association’s main duty is to help the youth economize resources, protect the environment through their activities, basing on the campus and look forward to the whole society.
Since the establishment of the Green Dream of HZAU, it develops very fast by the effort of the members and higher authorities, achievements have got the definite and favorable comments of College Youth League Committee and Wuhan Environmental Protection Agency, successively got " Outstanding Student's Corporation of the College " , " Outstanding Student's Corporation of the Star of the College " , prize of " Four-star Civilized Corporation of the College " (Five-star vacancy ), and becomes the most influential environmental protection association among the universities of Hubei Province. Besides, it held twice “Green Dream “speech matches and twice environmental protection general knowledge testes from 2000.
On September 16 , 2000, the association was invited to join University Student's Environmental Protection Federation of Wuhan; and participated in the Wetland Ambassador Action held by WWF and China Youth Daily and become one of the ten major wetlands ambassadors with the achievement of the fourth place in July,2001. And then the wetland ambassadors had carried on the 20-day‘s wetland investigating and propaganda activity in Honghu.
She wins outstanding achievement of the first place in "Corporation's Tour" in the college’s third Scientific and Technological Culture Art Festival of 2001; During July 20 to August 20 of 2002, Association representative attended the activity held by the non-government organization “Green Rivers” and made a investigation participate in HOHXIL,the source of the Yangtze River.
She also took the lead setting up the first green bookshelf in the University of Hubei with the school library and GREEN STUDENTS FORUM of Beijing. Again in September of 2002; the association took the lead in introducing such three interest groups as environmental propaganda and education, open-air activity, Recycle, etc. in order to serve the members better; Established association's proceedings “Green News " and reflected association's tendency and propagated environmental protection knowledge in time at the end of 2002.
On April 5, 2003, association and China Dragon's Out-door’s Club held the fist “Directional Off-road Challenge Match", and got a strong response around the campus. Summer vacation time of 2003, representatives of associations succeed in being selected the national university student's Green Camp in 2003, and having an investigation of the grassland of Ruoergai in the northwest of Sichuan to protect the wetland grassland. Meanwhile, representative teams of association again got the chance to attend this year’s Wetland Ambassador Action by WWF, and then go to Ezhou city carrying on their investigation and finally got the second prize around the country.
Besides, the representative of association have also attended some international forums held in Beijing, for example, the 3rd Sino-America NGO Environmental Cooperation Forum held in Beijing in Novermber,2003;and the 1st Environmental Volunteer Training held by the China Environmental &Cultural Promotion Corporation in Jan,2004.
Our every activity has received the positive concern of the media, successively there was CCTV, Hunan Satellite TV, Hubei Satellite TV, TV station of Wuhan, China Youth Daily, China's environmental newspaper, Wuhan Evening and Morning Post, such medias as WWF website (www.wwfchina.org ) , the China Youth online (www.cyol.net ) and Xinhua News Agency www.people.com.cn ,etc. also have interviewed and reported to our activity.
In addition, the association has also set up the project funds of some short-term small-scale projects, so long as any member has the good ideas, can all apply to implement to the association , the association offers help the possible one.
