WWF, a global leading conservation organization with 25 years of experience in China, is seeking a motivated and capable individual to Support WWF Communications team on a daily basis: The position is:
WWF China Communications Officer
Job Description:
Develop and implement communications strategies in close co-operation with program staff and communications team, planning and organising press conferences, topical press releases, fact sheets, special publications and other communications events
Plan and organise media coverage of WWF China’s conservation programs and activities
Establish, nurture and expand media contacts, organise workshops for the media, maintain a journalist database and organize monitoring of press coverage
Write, translate and/or edit Chinese language press releases, features stories, newsletters, brochures and execute quality control for all Chinese language publications
Execute overall responsibility for content of WWF’s Chinese language website
Support marketing department with fundraising campaigns and donor communications
Maintain internal communications with WWF headquarters in Switzerland and the global network of WWF, as well as with other international organisations and partner, in conjunction with English communications manager
Manage and develop Chinese-language Panda Passport, WWF’s on-line campaign tool
Key Requirements:
University degree, preferably in journalism, communications or related field
At least 3 years experience as a journalist or in communications / public relations
Native Chinese with excellent Chinese writing skills
Fluency in spoken and written English
Acquaintance with Chinese media landscape and good command of a wide range of communications tools
Strategic thinking and strong organisational skills
Demonstrated ability to plan own work and manage priorities and deadlines
Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, the ability to work in a multicultural environment, to work well in complex teams as well as to act on own initiative
A strong interest in nature conservation and sustainable development issues
