WWF, the global conservation organization that has been working in China for 27 years, is looking for a highly skilled professional to be a WWF-HSBC Partnership Programme Communication Manager for the Conservation Operations in WWF China Programme Office to be based in Beijing.
This position will report to the Leader of WWF-HSBC Partnership Programme.


WWF-HSBC Partnership Programme Communication Manager
Major Function:

The WWF-HSBC Partnership Programme (hereafter referred as “the Programme) Communications Manager leads the overall communications work at Programme level (70%), and is responsible for all specific communications tasks at Shanghai Office level (30%).

The Communications Manager should act as a gatekeeper for the Programme communications guidelines to promote profiles of the Programme.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Leads the planning, coordination and implementation of the Programme communications strategy and activities, with the purpose of magnifying the Programme achievements, engaging target audiences and corporate partner, and increasing their awareness of climate change and freshwater conservation;
Coordinates among communications across related thematic programmes, field offices, WWF Yangtze Communicator, WWF China Communications Department and Marketing Department, and maximizes communications opportunities for WWF Network
Leads the planning and implementation of communications activities at Shanghai programme office level.
Build and maintain communication network, with corporate donor, partners, governmental agencies, local media, and other stakeholders in Shanghai, and coordinate the overall communication network around WWF-HSBC Programme sites.
Lead the collection, analysis, coordination, production and dissemination of communication materials for the Programme to promote and profile the programme within WWF CPO, to rest of WWF network and with external audiences.
Receives and responds to communication information requests on the WWF-HSBC Programme and Shanghai Programme office, and, where needed, arranges for appropriate support from the Programme Team, Yangtze Communicator and WWF CPO to meet requests.
Contributes press releases, stories, and other press materials on the Programme to Communications Department for media opportunities.
Coordinates significant visits to the Programme field sites, in cooperation with departments of communications and marketing, as well as field offices.
Works on programme promotion opportunities (media tours, events etc) in collaboration with Communications Department, thematic and field offices and HSBC to increase awareness for the Programme.
Contributes information on WWF-HSBC Programme to WWF China website and HSBC corporate communications channels.
Qualifications Required
Background on media or public relations;
At least five years experience in media or PR related work;
Strong ability to coordinate among various internal and external parties;
Rich experience in identifying, designing and implementing communications events and activities;
Demonstrating leadership in driving overall communications work of the Programme;
Proactive, innovative and output-oriented personality with good communication skills;
Good English in writing, speaking and reading;
Adequate interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team with other staff in achieving common goals and ability to work hard and meet deadlines;
Willingness to update professional knowledge and skills.
