[align=justify][align=justify]JOB TITLE: Communications and Philanthropy Assistant, China Program[align=justify]SUPERVISOR: Communications Manager [align=justify]LOCATION: Kunming/Beijing, China
[align=justify]Summary of Position:[align=justify]This position will be responsible for assisting with a variety of communications and philanthropy-related tasks, including writing, editing, translating, proofreading and layout design of documents in both English and Chinese. The position will be based in the Kunming office and may involve some work-related travel. This position will report to the Manager of Communications in Kunming and work closely with other communications, fundraising and project staff.
[align=justify]Key Duties:[li]Produce a TNC China Program quarterly newsletter for English-speaking audiences including donors, international partners, and others programs within TNC.[/li] [li]Assist in writing and editing English written materials, including reports, grant applications and donation requests. Assist with translation work as needed.[/li] [li]Assist Project Managers in the preparation of English documents, reports, etc.[/li] [align=justify]4. Build and maintain a photo bank, archiving and indexing photos from all China Program projects. [align=justify]5. Keep and update a media list, registering all media coverage, reports about the China Program projects. [li]Develop new communications and marketing tools to support our conservation work as needed.[/li] [li]Assist with the coordination of international donor and VIP visits to TNC project sites in northwest Yunnan.[/li]
[align=justify]Key Requirements:[li]Native English speaker with excellent English language composition skills. [/li][li]Excellent Chinese: spoken, reading and writing. [/li][li]A minimum employment commitment of one year. [/li][li]Experience and/or strong interest in communications work, i.e. conveying our stories, our vision and our conservation work to key partners and supporters. [/li][li]Proven ability to produce tangible results and work independently. [/li][li]Excellent interpersonal skills; a team player with a desire to work with other staff to improve their communications skills as well. [/li][li]Solid knowledge of MS Office and various publishing programs. [/li][li]Excellent visual communications skills, particularly formatting and layout skills. [/li][li]Ability to organize time, manage diverse tasks, and meet deadlines. [/li][li]High standard of excellence combined with a flexible approach to achieving those standards. [/li][li]Excellent intercultural sensitivity and willingness to continue to hone such skills. [/li][li]A passion for nature conservation in China.
