ActionAid is an international anti-poverty agency whose aim to fight poverty worldwide. Formed in 1972 in UK and currently the secretariat office moved to Johannesburg, South Africa in 2004, we have worked for over 35 years and have been growing and expanding to where we are today-helping over 13 million of the world’s poorest and most disadvantaged people in 42 countries worldwide through cooperate with 2000 local NGOs and partners. During its five years (2005-2010) global strategy period, ActionAid mainly engage in anti-poverty and we use right-based approach to improve community capacity building and policy analysis to bring the attention of general public and to influence local and national decision makers to make effective solutions to poverty, especially to women’s rights, education, health care, HIV and AIDS, food rights, human security and governance.
The China office of ActionAid international first began working in 1998 and became a fully operational program in 2001. In our work in China, we draw on ActionAid’s extensive experience in its 35 years of work around the world. Because we recognise that poverty in China has its unique characteristics and China has outstanding success in poverty reduction, our approaches and methodologies are developed based on the drawing lessons and experiences from both arena to suit local context to ensure that our work most effectively addresses the needs of China’s poor and excluded communities. We also provide capacity building activities and skills training for the people of community to enhance their ability to fight poverty together.

Job title: Head of Resource Mobilization and Communication
Duty station: Beijing
Reports to: Operation Director
Main Responsibilities:
Liaise with international and local partners, other national program, communities in order to develop sustainable fundraising resources while promoting proper organization image
Manage donor funded projects and maintain the CMI system to ensure the program quality and meeting requirement such as reporting and lessons documentation and sharing, supervise NK system management.
Develop possible donor partners relationship with various sectors and establish a sustainable resource base for the organizational work
Develop fundraising plan (sponsorship and donor funding),design and conduct fundraising events and activities when possible
Support field staff and thematic staff in developing and writing project proposals and linking with potential supporters and donors to raise funds
Develop possible linkage with commercial sectors and strengthen the social responsibilities
Influence donors agencies on how and where aid resources are spent
Produce organizational required information and communication materials required for fundraising and organizational image building
Contribute to reporting of all work to relevant peer groups-AAIC and public
Coordinate the development and dissemination of communication material for development education
Establish communication system with other NGOs, Corporate institutions, donors, Press Media and general public to build profile of the organization

Qualification Required
A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in the development sector is essential, including knowledge of major official donors, their preference and priorities, with proven ability in developing and maintaining effective working partnerships with them
Relevant experience of mass communication, documentation and public relations in senior level position in cross cultural/ international organisation

Job title: Policy Advocacy Coordinator

Main Responsibilities
To be lead person in conducting policy research and analysis on thematic areas based on the key issues identified by AAIC in its strategy paper
To build and strengthen alliances and network to address AAC’s priority issues on policy advocacy and campaign
To coordinate thematic research output to develop into education materials and campaign strategy or plan
To contribute to fundraising initiatives and help to broaden understanding of and leveraging of resources
Review and evaluate programs to find out thematic issues for research and influencing
Facilitate and coordinate macro level review of government and other institutions’ policies and strategies that have relation to poverty and relevant to AAIC’s work
Advocate ideas and approaches within and outside the organization
Qualification Required
Masters in social science, preferably Development studies, Anthropology, Social Science, Economics or international relations.
At least 3-5 years hands on experience in development field on research and advocacy in the NGO sector.
A clear understanding of Advocacy and “macro-micro” linkages in development in China and Globally

Job title: Impact Assessment and Shared Learning Coordinator

Main Responsibilities:
To facilitate any external and internal evaluation to ensure the lessons drawn for improving program quality
To review evaluation indicators developed by the current thematic coordinators to ensure to develop the measurement to asses the country strategy goals achievements during the CSPII period
To develop the PME system at the field level as well as M & E at the country program level based on the CSP
To develop an effective and efficient MIS system to ensure the data are properly collected and stored both at DA and country office level.
To support Country director/Supervisor and AAI China staff to implement AAI approaches
To develop the ALPS implementation plan and discuss with the Senior Management Committee members to finalize the realistic implementation plan each year, including participatory review and reflection process (PRRP).
To support the regional staff to organize training for field staff on AAI’s approaches, especially RBA and Area Immersion
To provide mentoring role for program staff and conduct performance evaluation to identify gaps/issues
To provide support and advice on producing training materials on different themes (Such as HIV/AIDS, Public health, Literacy and Community mobilization and farmers groups formation, Community organizing related materials) to match the DA operation requirement applying REFLECT approach for both DA staff as well as for community facilitators

The Global Call to Action against Poverty (GCAP) is a worldwide alliance of hundreds of organizations calling on world leaders to fulfill their promises to end poverty. Taken together, the GCAP alliance represents a constituency of over 60 million citizens in every region of the world, making it the largest ever mobilization of civil society organizations (CSOs) against poverty.
Since September 2004 when GCAP was formally declared in Johannesburg, national alliances have been formed, and campaign strategies and plans of actions have been developed to support the global movement both nationally and regionally at different parts of the world.
In China, the China GCAP Alliance was initiated in April 2005. Its Steering Committee comprises the fourteen organizations from local and international nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) work in China. It is aimed that the GCAP can be a platform for NGOs to come together to share and learn. For the year 2006-2007, China GCAP is working together on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Forum and related researches.
Main Responsibilities:
To support the secretariat of China GCAP Alliance in organizing and documenting meetings, and communicating with member organizations for related activities;
To support in executing China GCAP events and activities;
Actively promote the profile of the China GCAP Alliance and raise the awareness of CSOs, general public, government, media and business sectors on GCAP, especially on issues relating to the Millennium Development Goals and trade justice in the context of China;
To support the GCAP China Alliance taking advantage of all opportunities to expand and consolidate the CSO network working on related issues in China;
To make the necessary arrangement for China GCAP representatives to attend national and international meetings and events;
To communicate regularly and update the GCAP International Facilitation Group (IFG), Asia Facilitation Group (AFG), and other relevant subgroups on China GCAP Alliance positions and activities;
To support in drafting, editing and coordinating inputs in the writing, printing and distribution of advocacy documents and reports on China GCAP events and activities;
To record and monitoring related expenses of the China GCAP Alliance;

Qualifications required:
Have an advanced degree in social sciences, international relations, political science or relevant discipline, master degree is plus,
