Position Title: Project Assistant

BACKGROUND:
Yunnan Daytop Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center is implementing a five-year project in partnership with Asian Pacific Council of AIDS Service Organizations (APCASO) in Yunnan to scale up the HIV prevention alongside with the expanding treatment access, as well as to endeavor removing the social, legal, and cultural stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS. With the expansion of HIV Prevention & Treatment Advocacy Project (PTAP), the project is looking for a PROJECT ASSISTANT to join the PTAP team.
SCOPE OF SERVICES
The prime task of the PROJECT ASSISTANT is to provide supportive services to PTAP office located in Daytop Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center, as well as supportive involvement to PTAP Country Project Coordinator (CPC) in the project activities at the front line. The responsibility of the PROJECT ASSISTANT will include:
PTAP Office-Based:
[li]Assist Country Project Coordinator (CPC), and other PTAP team member, in preparing the annual work-plan and budget; [/li][li]Promote the link between PTAP project and related decision makers such as governmental institutions and project stakeholders such as community-based organization, INGO’s, governmental organizations; [/li][li]Assist CPC in minute recording of conferences, workshops; travel arrangements, translation and interpretation of the PTAP related visitors in team with CPC; [/li][li]Assist CPC in preparing the quarter and annual PTAP progress narrative reports as advised by CPC; [/li][li]Hosting and facilitating of the visits of APCASO and ICASO visitors; [/li][li]Assist CPC in documentation and filing of the name-list and information of beneficiaries of IEC materials, workshop participants, and trainers, etc, ; [/li][li]Assist CPC in proper filing of the project activity documents and correspondences; [/li][li]sorting and/or filing of necessary receipts related to finance; [/li][li]Supportive services, such as IT support to PTAP office environment, stationary purchase and maintenance, etc; [/li] PTAP Project Activity Involvement:
[li]Involvements in the workshops, conferences, trainings according to the project work plan as advised by CPC; [/li][li]Assistance to CPC, and other PTAP team members and partners, in advocacy events and activities; [/li][li]Participation in development, designing, and printing of Information, Education, and Counseling (IEC) materials, as assistant to CPC; [/li][li]In teamwork with CPC, promotion of PTAP project in stakeholders to identify other possible source of technical and capital inputs; [/li][li]To ensure that ICASO rationale be implemented in PTAP project (human right based project approach, equal rights, participation of the people living with AIDS, etc.) [/li] Requirement:
Qualification & Experience:
[li]Bachelor’s degree in management, development, or English; [/li][li]2-3 year work experience, NGO experience is a plus; [/li][li]Computer-iterated in Microsoft Office; [/li][li]Knowledge in HIV-AIDS is a plus; [/li] Ability & Skills
[li]Time management, self-motivation under both supervised and non-supervised environments; [/li][li]Good communication skills with a varied group of people in discussions, emails, and telephone contacts; [/li][li]Awareness and sensitivity in multiculturalism; [/li][li]Willingness to travel, and work overtime on weekends or holidays and in evenings if necessary; [/li] Salary and benefits:
The salary for the project assistant is 2,500.00 - 3,000.00 CNY/month, plus 10% as fringe benefits.
The incumbent of the position also shares paid leave according to the labor law of China.
The contract is valid for one years, with 3-month as probation period. The contract is renewable according to the source of the project.
