Oxfam Hong Kong is a member of Oxfam International and an independent development and relief agency based in Hong Kong working with poor and disadvantaged people in Asia and Africa. We are recruiting the following member to join us in our anti-poverty work:
Government Liaison Officer – China Unit
(3-year contract based in Bei Jing)
The Government Liaison Officer– China Unit is a member of the Policy, Public Education and Communications (PEPC) Team of the China Unit, and will report directly to the Team Manager, with functional supervision received from the Director of the Policy, Campaign and Communications (PCC) Unit. S/He provides support to the PEPC team in the implementation of its programs. S/He is also required to work with other teams of Oxfam Hong Kong, especially the PCC Unit , and also with colleagues in Oxfam International.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be OHK’s focal point for establishing and maintaining good, smooth, constructive and positive relations with the central and provincial government departments. Including but not limited to regular communications, exchanges and cooperation.
To support OHK’s communication work, specifically with Oxfam International and affiliate members, including producing internal briefings and editing the English website,
To undertake other functions as may be required by the PEPC Manager,
Requirements:
Identification with the values of OHK and basic knowledge about the NGO field in/on China;
At least 5 years of working experiences in/on China NGOs or related to organizations;
A degree in social work or related to social science subjects is an advantage;
Strategic thinking and analytical skills;
Excellency in written and spoken Chinese;
Proficiency in written and spoken English;
Strong ability of interpersonal communications;
Work as a team player;
Computer knowledge in Chinese word processing;
Ability to travel frequently as required
No expatriate package will be provided for the position
