　Introduction
　　Habitat for Humanity China (www.habitatchina.org, www.habitat.org/ap) is a non-profit housing organization dedicated to eradicating poverty housing and homelessness in China. We work with partners and communities to construct simple, decent and affordable housing for low-income families. Habitat for Humanity China currently works in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan and Sichuan provinces, and Hongkong as well. By the end of 2007 we have built and renovated more than 600 houses for low-income families in China. In our programs, we not only provide financial and technical support to partner families for building or renovating houses, but also organize teams of volunteers to work alongside with them on unskilled construction activities. We are recruiting a dynamic Program Officer to join our team in the Guangdong Project Office. 　　Job Description:
　　Program Officer - Guangdong Project Office
　　Job Summary:
　　"rovide assistance to the Guangdong Program Manager in managing and developing housing projects and volunteer programs in Guangdong Province
　　"Be based at the Guangdong Project Office, in Guangzhou, Guangdong
　　"Report to the Guangdong Program Manager
　　Status:
　　Full-time, salaried position, with standard HFH China benefits. Compensation dependent on experience and qualifications
　　Duties and Responsibilities:
　　"Assist Guangdong Program Manager in the planning, implementing, and monitoring of housing projects for low income families
　　"Interview and collect data on potential partner families, and assist in the family selection process
　　"Coordinate with project partners in determining house design/budget and construction schedule, and monitoring the construction process and quality control.
　　"rovide leadership to groups of volunteers who will be participating in unskilled construction activities, e.g. prepare pre-trip communication and document with volunteer groups, arrange logistics for volunteer trips, arrange and supervise volunteers to safely work on sites, etc.
　　"Other duties may be assigned by Guangdong Program Manager.
　　Qualifications and Requirements
　　-Able to effectively communicate in Cantonese.，English and Putonghua
　　-Must be willing to travel extensively in the countryside and around Guangdong Province including frequent overnight stays, and work some weekends
　　-Must have basic technical understanding and experience on housing construction and techniques.
　　-Must have experience and understanding of the issues related to rural farmers
　　-Must be able to effectively and confidently lead teams of people and communicate with large groups
　　-University Degree
　　-Experienced PC computer user
