CAMPAIGNER
The Campaigner will provide campaign leadership and specialized program expertise in Greenpeace’s ongoing or emerging campaign works as designated by the Campaign Director. Through participation on Greenpeace China and Greenpeace International Campaign Team(s) the Campaigner is directly involved in the development and implementation of campaign strategies, proposals and policy. The Campaigner will also work with external coalition partners to further Greenpeace’s campaign goals.
Responsibilities:
• Provides leadership and program expertise with respect to a specialized campaign area. Keeps abreast of issues. Conducts investigations. Analyzes new developments in support of campaign objectives and goals.
• Develops and implements effective campaign plans and strategies to draw attention to ecological abuse (e.g. through public education, non violent direct confrontation, spectacular action, lobbying).
• Maintains an active liaison with potential and established allied groups and coalition partners. Actively seeks out and participates in discussions with influential individuals and groups. Communicates with national/ provincial/ local officials related to environment policies and issues.
• Researches and analyzes a wide range of specialized material on campaign issues and strategies. May be required to do media work.
• Promotes support within Greenpeace to advance campaign goals. Organizes community activities and other public events. Makes presentations and responds to public speaking requests. Initiates requests with strategically targeted groups.
• Responds to public inquiries about campaign issues and other matters. Prepares materials and publications. Attends and/or organizes conferences.
Requirements:
• Bachelor degree or above;
• At least 3-year working experience, especially media, advertisement, public relation or NGO experience;
• Excellent organization and communication skills; good analyze and research skills; responsible and active working spirit;
• Ability to work under pressure; good team-work spirit; understand and support the idea of Greenpeace;
• Ability to work independently and in a team;
• Willingness to travel;
• Excellent command of written and spoken English;
• Excellent computer skills and familiar with office software.
The position above is 2-year contract.
