Heinrich B鰈l Foundation (HBF) in cooperation with China Association for NGO Cooperation (CANGO)
Heinrich B鰈l Foundation is one of six political foundations of the Federal Republic of Germany, and is affiliated with Germany’s Green party. The Foundation's primary objective is to support cross-cultural understanding. HBF also provides support for research and developmental co-operation. Its activities are guided by the political values of ecology, democracy, solidarity, and non-violence.
Principal duties
In close co-operation with the director of HBF’s China project the incumbent will develop and implement strategies for international dialogue on a range of topics, with a focus on one or two of the following: environment and energy, gender equality, globalization and social policies:
• Initiate and manage relations with Chinese partner organisation in government, civil society and academia
• Organise conferences, publications, workshops and roundtables together with Chinese and international partner organisation
• Take responsibility for research and development projects including project planning, liaising with partners, monitoring implementation and evaluating results
• Write and/or translate background papers and reports on HBF activities and related issues
• Execute overall responsibility for content on Chinese language website and quality control for Chinese language publications
Required Skills
• Post graduate University degree, preferably in environment, social sciences, politics, economics or related field
• At least 5 years of professional background with experience in project management
• A strong interest in international exchange and public affairs (social, environmental, economic and political issues)
• Familiarity with current affairs and main players in the field of Chinas governmental agencies, non-governmental organizations and academic field
• Native level Chinese language and writing skills and fluency in spoken and written English; German an asset
• Strategic thinking and strong organisational and communications skills
• Ability to work independently and act on own initiative, as well as to integrate well in a multicultural team
