中国地质大学逸夫博物馆

中国地质大学逸夫博物馆是2003年新建成的现代化博物馆，坐落在美丽的武汉市东湖之滨、南望山麓，毗邻武汉光谷广场，建筑面积近万平方米，陈列展示面积5千余平方米。这里是全国科普教育基地、全国青少年科技教育基地，是目前国内最大的大学博物馆，也是中南五省最大的自然科学类博物馆，是广大青少年认识地球、了解自然的科学殿堂。
这里为您打开了地球46亿年沧桑巨变的宏伟画卷、地球生命38亿年进化的历史长廊。
这里为您展现了各种“多姿多彩的石头”——精美绝伦的宝玉石、五光十色的矿物、岩石以及与人类生存息息相关矿石等。
在这里，您可以领略世界首创、直径1.5米、绕地球23.5度斜轴旋转的磁悬浮地球仪，亲身体验人造地震平台所带来的大地的颤动，还可以进入由9具恐龙骨架、恐龙足迹化石、6条电动机器恐龙组成的恐龙世界，“目睹”50万年前的北京猿人以及用高科技手段制作的亿万年前的动物界栩栩如生的场景．．．．．．
有兴趣的观众还可以一展身手与史前最大的动物——恐龙赛跑．．．．．．
这里奇珍异宝会萃，有反映2亿多年前爬行动物生活场景、面积达100m2的《远古生命足迹》化石幕墙，有距今2亿多年、长8米的鱼龙化石、似花非花而又胜似花的海百合化石等。这些镇馆之宝，无论从化石保存的完整度、科学性、观赏性等方面，都是在当今世界首屈一指，观者无不叹为观止．．．．．．

A Window to Geological World
—Introduction of Yifu Museum of China University of Geosciences

Yifu Museum of China University of Geosciences, built in 2003, is a modernized geological museum. Located near the beautiful East Lake, backed on Nanwang Hill and neighbored with Wuhan Optical Valley, the Museum has an architectural area of about 10,000 m2 and an exhibition area of more than 5,000 m2. It has been listed as a national base of science popularization, and national scientific learning base for young people. As far as, the Museum ranks No.1 in all university museums and is also the largest museum of natural history in the five provinces of Central China,and is a scientific hall for numerous youngsters to understand the Earth and nature.
The Museum unfolds a grand picture scroll of the 4.6 billion years’ history of the Earth and opens up a gallery of the 3.8 billion years’ process of evolution of life for you.
It shows colorful and peculiarly shaped crystals and magnificent precious stones, Precious Stones and Jewelry, Minerals and Rocks, and Ore Resources which are closely linked with mankind.
  Here, you may watch the worldly first magnetism-suspended globe of a diameter of 1.5m which keeps revolving along a tilted axis of 23.5 degree,and experience the ground tremor caused by artificial earthquake.You may also enter the mysterious dinosaur world composed by 9 genuine skeletons, footprint fossils and 6 vivid dynamoelectric dinosaurs ,and witness Beijing Man of 500,000 years ago and lifelike faunal and floral scenery of million or even billion years ago created by high technology.
You may race with a dinosaur, the largest prehistoric animal ever exited on the Earth, when you are interested to.
Many rare treasures in the Museum, e.g. the astonishing fossil wall of 100 m2, Ancient Life Footprints, which reflects the life scene of reptiles prior to 200 millions years, the ichthyosaur fossils of 8 meters long, and the blossom-like fossil encrinite, are unique in the world, either in their integrity, scientific significance, or in their beautifulness and win admiration of visitors from all over the world.
