Declaration of the Selection Problems in the 2005’TUNZA Conference
By the Second Regional Youth Environmental Protection Organization Development Seminar in (Mainland) China
We acknowledge Friend of Nature, who is the forerunner of the Chinese environmental organizations, for its contribution towards the Chinese Environmental Protection, for its support to our youth activities and meanwhile for its efforts selecting the Chinese Youth to attend the 2005’TUNZA Conference. However, as the NFP of this conference, FON has some serious problems in its selected process and which badly hurt the Youth colleges attending the Environmental Public Activities. In order to ensure the right of the youth to attend the environmental activities and set up the equitable and transparent systems, the attendees who attended the Second Regional Youth Environmental Protection Organization Development Seminar in (Mainland) China hereby declare that:
1. We respect FON and Mr.Liang’s great efforts towards the Chinese Environmental Protection and we are also pleasure to cooperate with FON to participate more valuable activities.
2. As the principal or the delegate of the Regional Environmental Youth Organization and the College Environmental Volunteer Association, we think that the Chinese Youth Representations selected by FON cannot represent our environmental youth around China, and we also don’t know anything don’t get any information from FON of this conference.
3. We scream for all the information to be equitable and transparent and sincerely hope that FON could publicize the following information:
a. The 8 persons’ name and detailed introduction who are selected by FON;
b. Relevant records of democratic selection for this conference;
c. The contact method of the Korean organizer;
d. Member list for the 2005’TUNZA Conference of FON;
4. We are very indignant and disappointed that FON assigned the quota in private and ignored the youth’s participated rights, and we also hope that FON could respect the College Students’ Environmental Organizations and their great functions in Chinese Environmental Protection
5. We scream for the explanation of the FON 2005’TUNZA Conference Working Party for the problems happened in the selections and apology towards the Youth Environmental Organizations around China.
6. We scream for the sincere apology from FON towards Miss Rong Lijuan who is the delegate of Green-Stone and suffering the unfair treatment during the selection and we also hope that it won’t happen again in the future.
7. We would like to discuss and communicate with FON for the further details; however, if FON cannot give us a reasonable and compellent reply, we will find other legal and proper ways to solve this problem. |
