Identify the key steps in developing a system for placement development in alignment with VMG and founded on the needs of clients and beneficiaries
Consider necessary policies for placement development
Develop appropriate placement description for volunteers
二、 Placement Development
Placement development is the process of assessing the needs of disadvantaged communities and service institutions that can be addressed by placing volunteers.
三、Key Steps in Placement Development
Start by formulating your policies for placement development.
Review the mission of your organisation to remind yourself of what you can offer and deliver.
Analyse the needs of the community needs and study the mission of the potential host organisation to determine the development needs that a volunteer placement can address.
Identify the placement objectives to define what the placement needs to achieve.
Define duties and responsibilities of the volunteer to translate the placement objectives into specific tasks.
Describe the structure and processes of the organisation and community to determine lines of communication and the kind of volunteer needed.
Describe social setting where volunteer will be placed to determine the kind of volunteer needed.
Write the placement description to be used in volunteer recruitment and assessment and, later on, in monitoring and evaluating the placement.
Draft a contract or memorandum of agreement (you may use the placement description itself as contract), to ensure all parties signify commitment in writing. |
