China Dialogue Recruits English Translation Volunteer
                        

China Dialogue is seeking for 20 Online English-Chinese and Chinese-English translation volunteers in top universities of China. The application is open for everyone. China Dialogue staff team will review all applicants’ resumes and then an interview held for the ideal candidates will identify the 20 finalists.

Overview
China is growing fast and, as it grows, it is faced with urgent environmental challenges. Environmental costs may account for 10 per cent of China's GDP and the effects of pollution, desertification and climate change are already beginning to be felt within China and outside her borders. Climate change, species loss, pollution, water scarcity and environment damage are not problems confined to one country: they are challenges that concern all the world's citizens, but the rise of China gives them a new urgency. Tackling these challenges will require a common effort and common understanding. Here at China Dialogue we aim to promote that common understanding. By establishing the world's first fully bilingual website devoted to the environment we aim to promote direct dialogue and the search for solutions to our shared environmental challenges.



China Dialogue is an independent, non-profit organization based in London, Beijing and Los Angeles. It is owned by the Open Trust, a London based educational charity. It was launched on July 3, 2006. It is an initiative supported by a range of educational charities as well as the UK-China Sustainable Development Dialogue led by Defra (Britain's Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs).

China Dialogue may provide volunteers

1    English working environment.

2    Translation Certificate issued from China Dialogue HQ after volunteering working period of 6 months. Volunteer has the free choice to leave or remain in China Dialogue after the 6 months’ volunteering work.

Qualification

1    Having enthusiasm for public welfares, responsible, well organized and detail-oriented

2    Adept in both English and Chinese. Comfortable using the internet tools.

3    Capable of working under pressure and always committed in deadline and be able to work well both independently and collaboratively.

4    Team player with good interpersonal skills, self-initiated and results-oriented.

5    Demonstrated interest in global issues and environmental protection..

Working
Free working style. Translate and Edit online. The workload will be assigned so that the average working time will not exceed 3 hours per week.
