FFI China Programme Office is Seeking a Country Programme Office Administrative Assistant
and Project Assistant in Nanning, Guangxi
(1)Tasks of Administrative Assistant
The objective of this assignment is to provide secretarial, administrative and accounting support for efficient running of FFI's Nanning office and for field-based conservation projects throughout China.
Under the supervision of the China Programme Manager, the China Office Administrative Assistant will be responsible for:
a. Participate as an active member in the FFI China Programme team;
b. Take the lead in day-to-day administration of the FFI China Programme Office;
c. Handling general internal/external inquiries in English and Chinese;
d. Maintain communications with FFI field project teams in China, with the China Country Programme Manager.
e. Assist in carrying out administrative procedures to ensure effective planning, implementation, monitoring, communications, safety and supervision for all China programme actives;
f. Work as cashier for the programme, maintaining basic reimbursement system and assisting the FFI China programme accountant as book-keeper;
g. Manage the office assets;
h. Assist in library and web research and other media in support of project development and implementation;
i. Establish and maintain communications with other local conservation organizations (both NGOs and government) and maintain an up-dated matrix of their activities relevant to FFI projects
j. Assist the communication officer to update the newsletter and website of FFI China;
Reporting:
The China Office Administrative Assistant will report to the China Country Programme Manager.
Requirements:
a. At least Bachelor or equivalent training in administrative or financial management or a related discipline.
b. Working experience and enthusiasm in conservation field is preferable.

b. A good approach to teamwork and an ability to work independently
c. Good interpersonal and organisational skills.
d. Adaptability
e. Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) is essential.
f. Fluency in oral and written English and Chinese.
(2)Tasks of Trans-boundary Project Assistant
The objective of this assignment is to provide project implementation support for Trans-boundary Project of FFI, mainly focus on endangered primate conservation around the Trans-boundary area between China and Vietnam.
Under the supervision of the China Programme Primate Conservation Project Manager, the Project Assistant will be responsible for:
a. Participate as an active member in the FFI China Programme team;
b. Be in charge of keeping and updating all documents related with Cao Vit Gibbon protection in Trans-boundary area between China and Vietnam.
c. Participate in all of Cao Vit Gibbon protection activities in this area;
d. Assist Project Manager organizing, implementing and monitoring related activities of these projects;
e. Assist Project Manager to cooperate with local communities, partners, governments, academic community to carry out activities towards project objectives.
f. Under instruction of Project Manager, drafting relevant project implementation reports and financial reports, revising them based on comments from FFI staff or supervisors;
g. Under supervision of Project Manager, actively communicate with FFI Vietnam side, local governments or other partners for supporting collaborative activities;
h. Assist in developing funding strategies and identifying potential donors and preparing proposals to continue;
Location:
Nanning, Guangxi. but will frequently travels to project site or other places as required.
Requirements:
i. At least Bachelor degree or equivalent training in wildlife, ecology, forest or rangeland management, geography or a related discipline. Preferably, with relevant NGOs working experience.
j. Capacity to work independently and to meet deadline.
k. Good physical condition and team work skills are required.
l. Competency with operating software of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Fluency in spoken and written both English and Chinese.
