List of 2006 GGF China Grants - the 3rd Round
1. Green Jilin $500
GGF funds will be used to support the development of this new group in Jilin province. This group works to promote student participation of environmental efforts in Changchun, Jilin province and also networks with groups in Yanbian Korean Prefecture and other cities in Jilin province.
2. Community Action $3750
GGF funds will be used to purchase two new computers that will enable the group continue to publish a community action newsletter which helps promote healthy development of grassroots efforts in environmental governance.
3. China Green Student Forum $3800
GGF funds will be used to rent an office for this Beijing-based student environmental network. Additionally funds will be used to support the publication of an environmental cultural magazine.
4. Green Eyes of Fuding City $500
GGF funds will be used to support the development of this newly established group in Fujian province. Specifically, funds will be used to enable the group to raise membership and conduct local environmental campaign activities.
5. Yiyang County Chinese Mnerganser Conservation Association $400
GGF funds will be used to protect the endangered Chinese Mnerganser in Yiyang, Jiangxi province. Funds will enable the group to start a website to promote conservation of the Chinese Mnerganser and its wetland habitats.
6. Green Hanjiang $4000
GGF funds will be used to cover the costs of hiring a new staff member to work on the Hanjiang river pollution problem in Xiangfang, Hubei province.
7. Wild Bird Society of Dalian $5000
GGF funds will be used to continue to support the establishment of an environmental resource center in Dalian. The goal of this resource center is to help foster the development of local environmental efforts.
8. Green Korea $3600
GGF funds will be used to support activities related to the salmon conservation in the Namdaecheon River in Korea. The group will conduct pilot research on the river and develop an outreach program to promote conservation efforts and awareness among the Korean public.
9. Green Oasis $3500
GGF funds will be used to pay the rent for office space for the group. This office space will enable them to conduct outreach activities in Shanghai.
10. Beijing Earthview $4000
GGF funds will be used for the printing costs of a citizen guide on environmental activities related to 2008 Beijing Olympics.
11. Green Longjiang $5000
GGF funds will be used to continue to support the further development of an environmental resource center in Harbin, Heilongjiang province. This environmental resource center provides office space for local groups and also serves as an incubator of new environmental initiatives in Harbin.
