Position:Forest Programme Officer
Location:Beijing Office, WWF China Programme Office
Report to:Forest Programme Director
Function:Coordinate and implement projects on sustainable forest management and forest certification, legal compliance and forestry policy issues.
Specific Duties:

Provide support to WWF’s forest conservation activities, nationally and internationally, and to the forest projects of WWF China.
Take the lead role in the coordination and implementation of projects on forest certification, sustainable forest management, legal compliance on forest management and timber harvest, and forestry policy within the Forest Programme at WWF China.
Help initiate and develop new proposals in relation to forest certification, responsible forest management and forestry policy.
Manage the relationships among Chinese governments at various levels, the local communities, donors, and international agencies.
Accurately prepare and timely complete and deliver project documentation, including project activity reports, monitoring and evaluation information, six-monthly and annual technical reports, and others as needed.
Assist financial management of various programmes, such as trip financial reports and regular financial reports.
Collect information in support of programme or project work, including reports from partners in the field and reports from contractees, etc.
Timely update the project information on CONNECT of WWF International.
Manage logistics for workshops, training activities, and meetings.
Maintain routine communications and interactions among staff working in forest and other programme areas at WWF China and WWF international.
Provide technical assistant to the Forest Communication Officer and communication teams in CPO for assuring the accuracy and adequacy of communication with partners such as State Forestry Administration (SFA), relevant provincial forestry department, academia, medias and, websites.
Provide information as requested by donors and potential donors, under the direction of the Programme Director.
Working Relationships:
Internal: Immediate supervisor is Forest Programme Director. Also work closely with other team members of Forest Programme and other WWF CPO staff; WWF International TDP managers, and WWF Network staff.
External: Regular interactions with project partners, government officials, other NGOs, local communities, etc.
