Work with people against poverty! Oxfam Hong Kong (OHK) is a member of the international confederation Oxfam and an independent development and relief agency based in Hong Kong. We are looking for talented, high calibre staff to join our anti-poverty work:
Internal Communications Manager (3-year Contract)
-          China Programme Unit (CPU), based in Hong Kong
[Ref: CPU/ICM/11/01]

Reporting to the CPU Director and working with CPU Deputy Director, CPU Programme Managers and CPU Programme Quality Support Manager, the Internal Communications Manager is also required to communicate closely with other OHK units and management teams, the China Programme Committee, OHK Council and Oxfam affiliates on the works and progress of the CPU.

His/her main responsibilities are:
1.       Prepare and present precise, concise and good quality reports and materials to relevant concerned units, management teams, governing body and stakeholders etc.
2.       Prepare regular unit update  
3.       Manage translation and write executive summaries of major program documents, such as CPU’s strategic plans, annual plans and other key materials.
4.       Be involved and assist the other managerial staff in performing the following duties by extracting, compiling, rewriting, translating and presenting relevant programme information provided by other CPU staff.
-        Programme impact evaluation
-        Cross unit programme learning / programme standard setting
-        Humanitarian relief work information to internal stakeholders
-        Non-relief work programme info for external/media communication and for donors
5.       Staff supervision
6.       Perform other managerial functions as required and assigned.

The successful candidate MUST meet the following requirements:
Ÿ            A recognized degree with 8+ years of solid and relevant work experience in which at least 3 years is at managerial level.
Ÿ            Has in-depth understanding and proven work experience on issues related to gender and civil society.
Ÿ            Good facilitation skills in consensus building; collaborative in planning and coordination with other teams;
Ÿ            Innovative in knowledge management and institutional learning.
Ÿ            Ability to establish appropriate and efficient human resource, financial and administrative policies, systems and procedures for high transparency and accountability standards.
Ÿ            Excellent people management skills, ability to make decision and delegate as appropriate, ability to balance between staff participation and work efficiency and effectiveness at various levels;
Ÿ            Excellent written and verbal communications and presentation skills in both English and Chinese. Fluent Putonghua is a must. Proficiency in the use of computer
Ÿ            Ability to travel intensively and work in remote rural areas of China
Ÿ            Commitment to Oxfam’s approach to development
