Eligibility and Selection Criteria
Applications for the Yale WorldFellows Program are solicited from around the world. The Programprovides emerging leaders with an exceptional opportunity to enrichthemselves by enhancing their critical thinking skills, learning allthey can about cutting-edge issues, and developing a strategic visionfor their own professional trajectories and societal impacts. Criteria for selection include:[list=disc][li]An established record of extraordinary achievement and integrity; [/li][li]Commitment to engagement in crucial issues and to making a difference at the national or international level; [/li][li]Promise of a future career of leadership and notable impact; [/li][li]Special capacity for critical, creative, entrepreneurial, and strategic thinking; [/li][li]Likelihood to benefit from participation in the Program and to contribute to global understanding at Yale; [/li][li]Commitment to a rigorous program ofactivities, to full-time residence at Yale for the duration of theprogram, and to mentoring students and speaking frequently on campus[/li]
Applicants must:[list=disc][li]be in the mid-career stage, at least five andtypically not more than twenty years into their professional careers,with demonstrated work accomplishments, and a clear indication of futurecontributions and excellence. The average age of a World Fellow is 38;[/li][li]have an excellent command of the English language and be able to speak, read, and write in English fluently; [/li][li]be a citizen of and reside in a country other than the United States[/li]
Preference may be given to candidates whohave not had extensive educational or work experience in the UnitedStates, particularly at Yale.
The Yale World Fellows Program doesnot accept full-time students or full-time academics and does not awardan academic diploma of any kind. The fellowship is designed forpractitioners.
