项目名称:《拯救勺嘴鹬在中国的湿地家园》

是项计划将在江苏如东和福建闽江口开展为期三年的勺嘴鹬调查及湿地鸟类保育宣传活动,目的是提高当地小区对水鸟,特别是勺嘴鹬在中国内地沿海保育状况的关注。
由迪士尼公司主办的《迪士尼携手改变:绿色环保计划》,本年度由《拯救勺嘴鹬在中国的湿地家园》计划以最高票数获得首名资助。是项计划由国际鸟盟和香港观鸟会支持、上海野鸟会和福建省观鸟共同推行。
《拯救勺嘴鹬在中国的湿地家园》是2011年迪斯尼绿色环保计划五个入围项目之一,最后由全球儿童投票选出他们最喜爱的项目,以决定每个项目的资助金额。
勺嘴鹬(Eurynorhynchus pygmeus)是一种栖息于沿海湿地的水鸟,中国是勺嘴鹬的越冬地之一,也是其迁徙过程中的重要驿站。 牠的种群数量在过去30年急剧下降80%。因此在国际自然保护联盟濒危物种红色名录内被评为「极危物种」,急需我们施以援手。
是项计划将在江苏如东和福建闽江口开展为期三年的勺嘴鹬调查及湿地鸟类保育宣传活动,目的是提高当地小区对水鸟,特别是勺嘴鹬在中国内地沿海保育状况的关注。
Project Introduction:
The “Saving Spoony’s Chinese Wetlands” program which is supported by the Hong Kong Bird Watching Society and BirdLife International, executed by the Shanghai Wild Bird Society and Fujian Bird Watching Society has been awarded with the highest number of votes by The Walt Disney Company as a recipient of funding through Disney’s Friends for Change.
“Saving Spoony’s Chinese Wetlands” was among the five programs chosen for their environmental efforts. Kids had the opportunity to help Disney distribute the grants by voting for their favorite project on the Friends for Change website. The amounts awarded were determined by the number of votes each project received.
Spoon-billed Sandpiper, Eurynorhynchus pygmeus, is a kind of waterbird which inhabits wetlands in coastal areas. China is an important migratory staging grounds and wintering grounds of this species. Its population has been declined drastically of 80% in the past 30 years, with the population estimated between 450 and 1000 in 2008, thus it was listed as Critically Endangered in the IUCN Red Data Book and is in need of urgent help.
The funding will help the Hong Kong Bird Watching Society and BirdLife International to hold a three-year conservation project in Rudong, Jiangsu and Min Jiang Estuary, Fujian, which are the important to Spoon-billed Sandpiper. The project aims to raise public awareness of conservation of waterbirds including the Spoon-billed Sandpiper along China coastal areas through field monitoring surveys and education programmes. |
