Position:
Conservation International China Program is looking for a Program Development Managerfor its Beijing Representative Office; specifically focus on programs’development strategy and needs. The position will be based in Beijingwith about 1/3 travel time.
Scope of Work:
TheProgram Development Manager is responsible for leading the fundraisingactivities of the China Program in the Asia Pacific Field Division. Thisposition determines strategy and sets priorities for fundraisingactivities for China Program under the supervision of China VP; developsand oversees new business development strategy and contacts withprospective donors; formulates and implements strategy and developsproposals to donors to obtain commitments; and supports program/seniorstaff deployment to funding opportunities.
The ProgramDevelopment Manager performs external relations and relationshipbuilding with donors for both funding and stewardship of current donors,and oversees the writing and reporting functions of China Program,including providing support for editing/writing reports and otherwritten communications.
The Program Development Manager also works closely with HQ fundraising staff for fund opportunities.
Qualifications:
• Four-year college degree
• Minimum of 5 years experience in fundraising in non-profit organizations, or marketing in commerical compaines.
• Superior verbal and written communications skills.
• Demonstrated non-profit management or project management skills.
• Proven people skills and team leadership qualities.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Knowledge of international conservation and/or development issues preferred.
• Experience working at an international conservation organization preferred.
Main Tasks and Duties:
• Formulates and implements strategy and oversees the development ofproposals to prospect donors to obtain funding commitments, under thesupervison of China VP. Leads and/or supports program relationships withexisting and/or potential donors. Responsible for meeting the annualrevenue goal established for China Program.
• Leadsnew business development and oversees strategy development and contactswith prospective donors. Leads external relations activities to existingand prospect donors.
• Oversees the writing andreporting functions of the China program, including: providing reportsand other written communications to other CI Divisions and programs; andreview and approval of all fundraising documents (e.g., reports,proposals, concept papers, LOIs, etc.).
